FAQs

Is prenatal massage safe during pregnancy?

Prenatal massage can be safely adapted throughout pregnancy based on your health history, comfort and individual needs. Your RMT will modify positioning, pressure and treatment techniques as your pregnancy progresses. If you have a high-risk pregnancy or specific medical concerns, we may recommend consulting your healthcare provider before treatment.

How will I be positioned during prenatal massage?

Your RMT will adjust your positioning throughout treatment to keep you comfortable and supported. We offer side-lying positioning with supportive pillows and bolsters, as well as specialized pregnancy pillows that allow you to comfortably lie face down when appropriate.

When can I start postpartum massage after giving birth?

You can begin postpartum massage as soon as you feel comfortable and able to safely get on and off the massage table and lie in a supported position. Your RMT will adapt the treatment to your stage of recovery and comfort. If you've had a C-section, massage can still be provided while avoiding the surgical area as your incision heals

Can massage therapy help with C-section scar recovery?

Once your C-section incision is fully healed and there are no open areas, scabs or signs of infection, gentle scar work may be incorporated into postpartum massage to help improve scar mobility and address surrounding tissue restrictions.

This is often around 4–6 weeks postpartum, although healing time varies. Your RMT will assess the area and gradually adapt treatment based on your stage of healing and comfort.
